DJ LEON XAVIER
Leon learned the dance floor before he ever touched a turntable.
At 12, he was at Jamz, the roller rink in Northeast Philly where kids rushed the middle of the floor to dance battle. He fell hard for hip-hop and started breaking. A few years later he tried rapping and realized it wasn’t his lane. At 17, he watched a friend DJ a University of the Arts house party and knew right away that DJing was.
He bought gear and played house parties every weekend for years without earning a dime, purely out of love for the craft. Since then, he’s worked the Fishtown circuit and Center City Sips, and played everything from college house parties to fundraisers at City Hall.
Here’s what makes Leon different: he builds every set the way a dancer would, always thinking about what the next track will make people do on the floor. That’s what Philadelphia couples and mitzvah families get when they book him through Limelight: a DJ who mixes like it’s peak hour on a Saturday night.
No line dances. No autopilot.
Just a dancer behind the decks who knows how to keep a room moving.
