Vivi’s bat mitzvah at The Cove at Citron in Baltimore, Maryland turned a waterfront event space into a pink, floral LoveShackFancy world for one night. On August 30, 2026, a little over 100 guests filled two rooms for a 4-hour party. About half were kids and half were adults. Limelight Event Group ran the DJ, lighting, and video, with MC Niko on the mic. Here’s how the night came together, and what families should know about planning a bat mitzvah at The Cove at Citron.

What was the theme of Vivi’s bat mitzvah?

The theme was LoveShackFancy, with Vivi’s own spin on it: “LoveShackVivi.” Planner and designer Natalie Wood of Koches Koncierge carried the idea into every corner of the room.

Pink fabric swooped across the entire ceiling, and pink draping wrapped the walls. Balloon garlands in pink, sky blue, sage, and cream framed the DJ setup. A custom dance floor printed with blue roses had “LoveShackVivi” set right in the center. Even the food station had a name: the LoveShack Cafe.

As the DJ team for this bat mitzvah, we built our setup to match the room instead of fighting it. That meant white, soft-lit gear, custom graphics in the same floral print as the floor, and lighting that read pink and blue instead of club colors.

What did Limelight bring for the DJ and production?

Limelight provided a full bat mitzvah DJ and production setup built for a 100-guest party. Here’s exactly what was in the room:

  • A Luna LED DJ booth, lit from inside in soft blue

  • Two 60" screens running custom “LoveShackVivi 08.30.26” graphics in the party’s floral print

  • Four intelligent moving heads behind the booth

  • LED pixel tubes framing the setup

  • Two LED stages in front of the booth, glowing pink

  • Party favors for the dance floor

The screens did more than show a logo. They tied the booth to the dance floor, so the whole front of the room looked like one designed piece. The LED stages gave Vivi and her friends a spot up front to lead the floor. Once the party took off, the moving heads turned the room from pretty to packed.

How did MC Niko keep 50 kids and 50 adults on the dance floor?

MC Niko kept the floor full by giving the girls exactly what they came for: the biggest girlie pop hits, played loud, with everyone singing every word. With a crowd split evenly between kids and adults, the job was to keep the kids locked in without losing the grown-ups.

As the entertainment team for Vivi’s bat mitzvah, we watched Niko work that room all night. The girls crowded the front of the booth with their arms up, screaming the lyrics back at him. When it was time for tradition, the adults stepped in. Family and friends lifted Vivi high on a chair for the hora while the whole room circled around her, cheering and filming. Later, kids and adults linked hands in one big circle on the floral dance floor.

Party favors kept the energy spiking. Giveaways went out from the booth, and hands shot up across the floor every time. By the end of the night, more than 40 of Vivi’s friends packed onto the dance floor for the group photo in front of the screens.

What was it like running a party across two rooms?

Running a party across two rooms takes a plan for when to pull everyone back to the dance floor. Vivi’s family had one room full of activations and a second room full of games and mini golf, so guests always had somewhere to go.

The main room held the activations: an Emi Jay bracelet bar, a denim activation, a photobooth, and the LoveShack Cafe. The second room had the games and mini golf. That’s a lot of fun competing for attention, and it’s a good problem to have.

As the DJ team, our job was timing. We let guests explore during the lighter stretches. Then we used the big moments and the right songs to pull everyone back to the floor. With 4 hours and two rooms to work with, the dance floor never stayed empty for long.

Planning a bat mitzvah in Baltimore?

If you want a party where the kids sing every word and the adults end up on the floor too, let’s talk. When you book Limelight, you plan directly with the people running your night, not a sales team. Tell us the vision, the theme, and the songs your kid can’t live without, and we’ll build the room around it. Check your date and let’s start planning.
